Here, in slides, is the retreat at the source of the ganges. 29 pictures in all. Enjoy!
The trip starts from Rishikesh at 348 meters, to Uttarkashi, then to Gangotri at 3050 meters, and then an optional trek to Gaumukh at 3900 meters. We end back in Rishikesh with a rafting trip on the Ganga. In these pictures, you see several famous saints of the area—Swami Dinishanandaji seated with Ajayan, Swami Sundaranand (holding a picture of himself as a young yogi), and Mataji, a woman who spent many years alone in a cave at 4500 meters, snowed in every winter. You’ll also see the cave where Ajayan lived in Gangotri.
